About San Francisco State University

San Francisco State University commonly called SF State or simply SFSU is one of the oldest public universities. Founded 111 years ago and located in the southwestern area of San Francisco CA, SFSU is now offering 116 areas of study for bachelor's degrees and 97 for master's, many credential and certificate programs from 9 academic colleges. Last year, over 30.000 students were enrolled at SF State, part undergraduate students (82,1%) and part graduate students (17.9%).

Athletics

The San Francisco State University athletic teams are called Gators and they compete in the Division II of the NCAA, and CCAA. With 11 sports fields for men and women such as: basketball, soccer, wrestling, baseball, softball and cross country, SFSU produced many Football League players, major league baseball players and great teams in wrestling wich is the most successful sport in the SF State history. The official mascot is a Gator wich was adopted in the early 30's and their colors are purple and gold.
